In general, I'd recommend to give this a try if you play a lot of racing/flying games. It's very cool for flight games, though, where you can also use it to fly up/down. I recommend putting the deadzone at 0 or close to 0. It can help you turn more precisely, but getting used to it without overshooting or undershooting takes some time to master. This one tries to be like the analog wheel itself, except no resistance and vibration not as useful. The difference between this and the controller is that the thumb stick determines how fast you are turning the wheel in that direction as well as the limit - and a linear response at that. Your arc is not as precise as if the wheel was centred. It seems like 90 degrees, but it's not easy to judge that just by rotating your arms. I don't have trouble holding this up, my arms don't get tired, but I'm also the kind of person that sleeps with their hands in the air (for real!), so maybe others would get a nice arm workout.Īs to the actual, intrinsic use of this device, there is just no feedback in terms of the limit of the turn. This is probably THE reason I don't use this than the more convenient and comfortable controller. Sometimes it doesn't work when the controller is stuck in Player 2 mode. I have to turn it off sometimes, turn on the controller, press the button, then repeat backwards. That's my biggest complaint probablly, the fact that I can't access some settings in the game because it lacks those shoulder buttons RB and LB. Regular readers and bit-tech stalkers will know that I don't drive in real life and that I therefore don't really get all that excited about most realistic. It would be cool if they did, and added shoulder buttons to it. However, how will this practice translate to the next generation consoles? I don't see Xbox One have such a device. Probably with practice you could do better than the controller with the wheel. I think I got slightly slightly better times with the wheel, but the controller gave more consistent times and seemed to require more effort. And my conclusion was they were pretty much the same.

the standard controller by comparing laptimes. It's similar to playing a racing game on your smartphone, which I don't do. Maybe if I force myself to use it more often I would be better with it? After many years of racing with a controller, such a different device takes some practice to "master". Maybe it's the assists in the controller. I still prefer the controller over this when I want to get the best time possible.
